Tay and I are in San Francisco for a few days so I decided to ask my gorgeous friend Jen to guest post while I am away. Jen recently launched her new blog "With Heart" featuring fashion, recipes, fitness tips, and life inspiration. She works full time as a news reporter and is a busy mom. I have known Jen for many years and absolutely love her, I know you will too. I hope you enjoy this guest post and check out her amazing blogazine!

Jenn's outfit details: Ann Taylor sweater, J.Crew coat (sold out, similar here), pants, Hunter boots, necklace
Hi-oh, I'm Jen! I was thrilled when Em asked me to post for her
while she is away. When she asked me what I wanted to write about, I
kept coming back to my current state: winter survival mode. The weather
in Salt Lake City where I live this January has been brutal! Like want
to stay in bed with flannel jammies and 4 blankets brutal and because
of this, I have strived for functionality over fashion (gasp!). But
don't worry, I'm not suggesting we all pull out the long-johns and wait
for spring thaw (though at times that does sound appealing). I believe
you can look and feel great, even when the temperature drops. Here's my
list of winter essentials-- the items I cannot live without this time
of year.
Kiehl's Abyssine Cream: This is an all around great moisturizer.
It's just the right thickness, yet doesn't feel greasy. And a little
bit goes a long way-- gotta love that!
Hunter Boots: Hello waterproof! I know these boots
are comfortable, and I can attest to their greatness. They are easy to
slip on and I find myself wanting every color.
Burts Bees Pomegranate Lip Balm: Winter makes my
lips do a freak out, and not in a good way. This is my all-time
favorite lip balm, and I must have a tube with me at all times.
A Great Pair of Studs: I think every woman should
own several pairs of classic small earrings. Less appealing for a
grabby baby (like mine!) or a scarf snag.
Ann Taylor Turtleneck: I'm a gal who loves a great
turtleneck. I think they are so classy on any woman, and this one from
Ann Taylor is one of my favs.
Puffer Coat: Maybe one of my best purchases ever.
Super warm, goes with everything, and doesn't make you feel like the
little brother from A Christmas Story.
I'll leave you with a parting message: stay warm!
I'm a firm believer in dressing for the elements. None of this beauty
is pain baloney. How about you feel more beautiful when you feel more
comfortable! And in that case, I may just dedicate a post to my
favorite flannel jammies. Warm thoughts, Jen
